Power Transmission

The simplest form of power transmission that is, the connection betweenthe lifting body and the generator or interposed gearing that suggestsitself is a connecting rod with a rotating mass sufficient forsynchronism. The input speed of 4 r.p.m. presents no difficulties tospur gearing in the power range concerned.

The installation is ofsimple overall design, and does not even have to be regulated neitherthe water level nor the generator (since it is asynchronous); and thegenerator does not have to be designed for any runaway speed, either.
